Which Sensing Method to Choose?

Three mainstream perception approaches. For stainless’s weld drift and complex pipe shapes, we prioritize laser line scanning.

3D Laser Line Scanning

Scans the part to build a 3D contour and correct the trajectory with high precision. Best for welded stainless, curved pipes and large clamp deviation.

  • Principle: laser profile → 3D contour → trajectory correction

  • Accuracy: ±0.05mm

  • Best for: welded parts, complex shapes, large deviation

Force-Probing Locating

A force sensor lightly touches the part to probe its position and compensate. Low cost, but limited to simpler geometry.

  • Principle: physical touch probe detects position

  • Cost: Low

  • Best for: simple shapes, distinct features

Vision Photography Positioning

An industrial camera captures the whole-part outline to compute and correct clamping deviation.

  • Principle: photograph outline → correct clamping offset

  • Cost: Moderate

  • Best for: lower-precision positioning needs
