Which Sensing Method to Choose?

Three mainstream perception approaches. For cast iron’s bulky parts, large flash and hard-spot mapping, we prioritize laser line scanning.

3D Laser Line Scanning

Scans the part to build a 3D contour, locate flash/gate and flag hard spots with high precision. Best for bulky iron castings and large clamp deviation.

  • Principle: laser profile → 3D contour → trajectory correction

  • Accuracy: ±0.05mm

  • Best for: bulky parts, flash/gate location, hard-spot mapping

Force-Probing Locating

A force sensor lightly touches the part to probe its position and compensate. Low cost, but limited to simpler geometry.

  • Principle: physical touch probe detects position

  • Cost: Low

  • Best for: simple shapes, distinct features

Vision Photography Positioning

An industrial camera captures the whole-part outline to compute and correct clamping deviation.

  • Principle: photograph outline → correct clamping offset
